January 4, 2009 -- It's one thing to follow the teachings of Jesus, but it's another thing to try to eat like him, talk like him, look like him, even vote like him.

After reading the book "A Year of Living Biblically," by A.J. Jacobs, former pastor Ed Dobson decided to devote a year trying to live as Jesus did, based on what is written about him in the Bible and other historical documents.

"I read that book a little over a year ago, and I thought, well, if a secular Jew could do this, certainly a follower of Jesus could," Dobson said today on "Good Morning America Weekend."

Dobson, the vice president of spiritual formation at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Mich., said he did not shave, ate kosher, observed the Sabbath and read through the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John every week.

He even had a couple of beers along the way. "I would often go down to the bar, sit up at the counter, drink a beer and talk about God, which Jesus was accused of being a glutton and a drunkard," he said.

The most difficult part of the challenge, Dobson said, was obeying Jesus' teachings, particularly the idea of blessing the people who persecute you.

"My youngest son did two tours in Iraq, and on the last tour, a friend of his was killed in action and my wife and I went for the visitation and I was overwhelmed with grief and also with anger for the people who had made the roadside bomb, planted it and detonated it," he said. "And then I finally realized I had to pray for them and bless them, which is very, very hard to do."

Dobson even voted in the presidential race as he thought Jesus would. Dobson pulled the lever for Barack Obama, saying it was the first time he ever voted for a Democrat.

"I decided since I had read through the gospels at that point over 30 times, I wanted to know who best represented the fundamental teachings of Jesus, and I felt that he more than any other candidate represented the teachings of Jesus, so I voted for him," Dobson said.

Dobson's message to others heading into the new year is to start reading the Bible, which he acknowledged can be demanding.

"I would encourage people, whether you've ever read the Bible or not, begin reading the Bible, and just listen to what God has to say."

READING & FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS!

When I read this article I was so moved about the faith and obedience of the minister. I noticed that he put to practice the lifestyle, scriptures and teachings of Christ. It made me wonder how long could I have done this. I remember the song, "Lord I want to be like Jesus in my heart", but no one every said I want to live, act and worship like Jesus. I always wondered why none of the verses said that until I looked further into myself. If it's in your heart first, then your mind will follow and finally your actions have no choice but to do the same.

Mind Cleansing

YOU CAN TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS!

How many times did my mother say to me, “If you were to use that negative energy for something positive you could get so much more done in life!”

Whenever I heard the verse about the thief I always think about a person breaking into my house, taking my TV, ransacking my home and killing all those in the home if we were there at the time of the robbery. I received revelation that the thief was not touching physical items but mental and spiritual aids. The thief was trying to steal my joy and peace; he was trying to kill my ambition and destroy the foundation that my faith was built on. This thief could be a person or a situation that comes out of now where or has been in your presence from day one.

The writer Paul is explaining to the people that for those of you that have talents that you are using for causing pain for personal gain stop. You can use those talents in a positive method to help build, support and elevate the body of Christ. Instead of using your tongue to deceive or exterminate reputations, use it to teach and encourage ….instead of using your hands to destroy or embezzle, use your hands to repair broken material or decrease lack where it appears( i.e. when food pantry is low, bring donations).

The main goal of the United States penal system is to rehabilitate the thief; that is the same goal of Christ. When you take on the mind and spirit of Christ you began rehabilitation or transformation; this causes you to move from being a thief to an active and supportive member of society. In the end this old dog has been taught a new series of tricks. GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!

You Really Think You Got Me?

There's a saying, "Never kick a man when he's already down." Well, I am here to tell you that the enemy doesn't believe that nor does he play by that rule. His goal is to find my weak points and kick/stomp me while I'm down and keep me down. I have found myself at times already in a stressful/uncomfortable situation when the enemy came to me with more things to burden me down to overtake me physically, mentally and or spiritually. A good example of this occurred last year to me. I lost my job 4 days after my birthday, I was told that my employer was holding my last paycheck, later that summer the hurricane hit(lost all the food in my house) and finally my SUV was reposed that next month. At no time did I doubt that GOD was not going to save me from my enemy's attempts to slaughter me. God provided me with the blessing on my best friend joining my church, so I have a ride every Sunday. My job and children's school are on the same bus route, so we save much time. The latest installment to the enemy's battle plan; since I have no car, the department I work in is relocating to the other side of town, which is a 2 1/2hour bus. I have faith it will all workout for the good.

There's only one flaw to the enemy's plans; they forgot who's I am. I am a child of The Most High; I have served him diligently and with a sincere heart. I may be weak, but He is strong and mighty in battle. He's is a proud parent and will do any and everything to ensure that I am well taken care of and that means he will fight for me until the end. Now that's something to praise GOD for all day every day.

IT'S MINE FOR THE TAKING!!!!

"On your mark, get set, go!" When you have your mind set on a goal, no matter what obstacle comes your way, you jump, kick and fight to get to the end. Why do you do this, because you already see the finish line at the beginning of the race!

When I put my complete trust and faith in GOD there's always a reward (it's not always physical, some rewards come in the spiritual, also.*revelation/knowledge*). I must understand that when I completely surrender to Christ, evil doers and self can become some of my greatest obstacles. As David stated, I must travel/walk the straight and narrow path GOD has laid before me at all times(remember all have sinned and fallen short of the glory GOD, but they got back up). As I move along this path I will begin to watch the wicked (evil doers) destroyed and kicked to the curve. I will also be rewarded by Christ by receiving honor/recognition in my land (i.e. family, community or nation). This same promised is re-enforced in the New Testament by John in Revelation 3:8. The scripture says that GOD has opened the door showing me the finish line (reward) and no man or devil can take what's mine. I am being rewarded for walking the straight and narrow, even when times were hard, lonely or sad at times. Now because I held on, never denying my author and finisher being the Trinity (GOD, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit) and worked the duties GOD has assigned me; I am able to walk through the door into the land flowing with milk and honey. PRAISE GOD!!!!

Binding the Enemies Eyes and Ears Prayer

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I (we) bind all of satan's evil, wicked, demon, lying, unclean, perverse tormenting spirits and strongmen and messengers, their eyes blind, their ears deaf to our prayers, conversations and actions in the Name of the Lord Christ Jesus unless we speak directly to them. I (we) bind them and command them not to manifest in my (our) presence, the presence of anyone that I am (we are) around today, the presence of anyone that I (we) have prayed for today; or in the presence of our homes, cars, trucks, offices, properties, buildings, businesses, ministries, marriages, finances.

Heavenly Father, I (we) ask that You shut any doors that need to be shut and open any doors that need to be opened in the spiritual and natural realms of our lives in Jesus' Holy Name. Heavenly Father, I apply the Blood of Jesus over those doorways and ask that the enemy be rendered powerless and harmless so they cannot come back through those doorways ever again to our homes, properties, cars, trucks, work places, businesses, finances, minds, ministries, our spouses, spouse's work places, our children, their schools, their work places, our friends and loved ones in Jesus Christ's Holy Name. To God be the Glory. Amen!

GETTIN’ MY SWAGGER BACK

For an early age, I have had severe issues with my self-esteem. I have heard most of my life that I would be more attractive if I lost weight. This started when I was about 7 years and is still going until this day. I w as always told, if you would lose weight, wear contacts, put on make-up, or dress differently; people could see how beautiful the outside image matched the wonderful person I was on the inside. Until I made my 28th birthday( I’m 31 now) did I wake up and realize that GOD makes nothing ugly. As far as my little head can think I have never read of anything in the bible that referred anything GOD created to be known as ugly or unattractive; all things created by GOD is wonderful. In the scripture above, David is praising GOD for uniqueness that is inside and outside of him. GOD knows and knew everything that about us from our bad habits to the little things he gave to us to make us totally different from any other person. Each time David thought about how wonderfully GOD made him, his soul was delighted. The same should occur within us. GOD took his time with each and every creature he created; each one of us has things in us that can not be found in or on one else. So when you have doubts about your physical appearance or issues with your personality, remember that GOD made you fearfully and wonderfully!

To Have Appropriate Self-Esteem

Father, Jesus said that I am to love You wi th all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind (intellect). This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it: I shall love my neighbor as [I do] myself.
I desire to have appropriate self-esteem, and to receive myself just as You created me.
Father, You love me for who I am. It was You Who created me, and You Who formed me. You have redeemed me [ransomed me by paying a price instead of leaving me a captive of Satan]. You have called me by my name. You have said that I am Yours. Before You formed me in the womb You knew and approved of me [as Your chosen instrument], and before I was born You separated and set me apart, consecrating me; [and] You appointed me for a special work. You know me by name, and I have also found favor in Your sight.
I rate my ability with sober judgment, according to the degree of faith apportioned by You to me. As in one physical body we have many parts (organs, members) and all of these parts do not have the same function or use, so we are one body in Christ and individually we are parts one of another [mutually dependent on one another]. How many times have you resisted following the crowd, even if it seemed to be most beneficial for you and your family? How many times have you rocked the boat when nothing was wrong in the eyes of others, but everything you see about the environment was unlike GOD or totally displacing to GOD. Let me set the scene for you. King Nebuchadnezzar made a series of idol gods and told everyone in the land when you hear the horns, all(citizens and servants) must bow down and worship the idol gods. Well, there were three guys (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) that just wasn’t going for it, they remember that GOD told them that.” you shall worship no other gods but me”. Since Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego followed GOD’s orders, the king got mad, had them bound hands and feet, then had them thrown in the fiery furnace. When you observe how certain people go out their way to hurt the anointed of GOD?. Notice how the king bounded then Hebrew boys, through in the furnace and GOD sent an angle to their rescue. The king asked the royal court, did I not throw 3 men in, why is there 4 in there now. Just when your enemy thinks he has the upper hand you are in the position to burn up your dreams and or loose all your positions; GOD sends an angle to protect you from all hurt harm and danger. Then the person attempting to hurt you will have to do as King Nebuchadnezzar; bow down and decree to all the world that GOD is almighty and controls all.

Prayer Binding and Loosing Demonic Spirits

Heavenly Father, according to Matthew 16 and 18, I thank you that whatsoever I shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever I loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I (we) bind all of satan's evil, wicked, demon, lying and tormenting spirits and strongmen along with all evil principalities, powers and rulers of wickedness in high places; including all their works, roots, fruits, tentacles and links including any spirits and strongmen of doubt, unbelief, leviathan, pride, anger, rage, strife, deception, self-deception, confusion, self-confusion, divination, Jezebel, python, accusation, familiar spirits, delusion, self-delusion, unforgiveness, witchcraft, and willful sins: ____, ____, and ____. (Please look at the demon list on page 46; and loose any foul spirits that you feel may apply to you.) I (we) bind and loose all these demonic spirits and strongmen from me (us), from everyone that I (we) have prayed for today, from every organ in our bodies, from every cell in our bodies, from every gland, muscle, ligament and bone in our bodies, from our homes, properties, marriages, cars, trucks, businesses, ministries, objects, work places, finances, pets... and I (we) loose them to go where Jesus sends them and I (we) bind them and command them to stay there; in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I (we) place the Blood of the Lord Christ Jesus between us.

Heavenly Father, it is written in Psalms 91, and Matthew 6, and many other places of Your Word that You are my (our) Deliverer and I (we) ask that You give me (us), and everyone that I (we) prayed for today: total deliverance, total freedom, total liberty, and total salvation from all evil, wicked, demon, lying, perverse, unclean, foul, demonic spirits, strongmen, and their messengers, and from all sicknesses, disease s, infirmities, afflictions, infections, viruses, inflammations, disorders of any kind in every cell in our bodies, in every gland in our bodies, in every organ in our bodies, abnormal cells, radical cells, abnormal growths, radical growths, cancers, tumors, spasms, lesions, or cysts in any parts of our bodies. Heavenly Father, I (we) ask You to give our homes, cars, trucks, offices, businesses, finances, ministries, properties and pets: total deliverance and liberty and freedom from all evil, wicked, lying, perverse and unclean spirits in the Name of Jesus Christ. I (we) thank You for giving me (us) this deliverance, freedom, liberty and salvation from all these things in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Heavenly Father, I ask You to give me (us) and each person I (we) pray for today divine healing, divine health, and the manifestation of every miracle and every healing that you have ever given me (us) according to John 16:23. May these deliverances be used to glorify You, Heavenly Father.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I (we) command our minds, wills, and emotions to submit to the obedience of Christ in me (us). To God be the Glory. Amen!

FLOAT, FLOAT ON!!!

FLOAT, FLOAT ON!!!

Funny fact: I never learned how to swim until I was 18 years old and in college. The first time I took a swimming class, I was about 7 years20old and scared. The swim teacher told me to go to the driving board and jump off. In my mind I felt that he would not come get me, so I closed my eyes and jumped. The problem was, I jump to my extreme left and ended up missing the entire pool. Yes, you read right, I missed the pool and I landed on the side of pool on my rear end. HA HA HA!!!! Peter got caught up in the experience of walking on water and took his full attention off of Jesus, sometimes we, children the one true GOD do the same. We find ourselves so caught up in the hype of the blessing that GOD has given us that we forget who brought us there to begin with. Whenever you see yourself sinking into “self praise” or other sinful natures; ask GOD to remove that weight from around your neck. Once that weight is removed and you make eye contact with GOD, you will see/feel yourself floating back to the surface to continue your walk with HIM.

Daily Commitment of Your Will in Life to the Lord

I renew and give my total allegiance to You, Lord Jesus Christ, Father God and Holy Spirit, fresh and a new, today and for the rest of my life, to do Your work, to do Your will and obey You at all times. I give my life, and all that is in it, as a living sacrifice, unto You which is my reasonable servi ce , that first and foremost, all that I am would be a glory , honor, and praise unto You, Heavenly Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ's Holy Name. I commit my life and all that is in it, to You, to do Your Good Works, and to have and be in Your Total Desire, Will, and Presence, that I will, I am, and I will be, transformed into Your total likeness in Jesus Christ's Holy Name. Come Lord Jesus Christ take Your rightful place in my life, I give it to You , for eternity and I ask You Lord, to bind all that I am to all that you are, in Jesus Christ's Holy Name. Amen.

David Destroys the Amalekites
1 Three days later, when David and his men arrived home at their town of Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid into the Negev and Ziklag; they had crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground. 2 They had carried off the women and children and everyone else but without killing anyone.

3 When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, 4 they wept until they could weep no more. 5 David’s two wives, Ahinoam from Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal from Carmel, were among those captured. 6 David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

7 Then he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring me the ephod!” So Abiathar brought it. 8 Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?”

And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”

9 So David and his 600 men set out, and they came to the brook Besor. 10 But 200 of the men were too exhausted to cross the brook, so David continued the pursuit with 400 men.

11 Along the way they found an Egyptian man in a field and brought him to David. They gave him some bread to eat and water to drink. 12 They also gave him part of a fig cake and two clusters of raisins, for he hadn’t had anything to eat or drink for three days and nights. Before long his strength returned.

13 “To whom do you belong, and where do you come from?” David asked him.

“I am an Egyptian—the slave of an Amalekite,” he replied. “My master abandoned me three days ago because I was sick. 14 We were on our way back from raiding the Kerethites in the Negev, the territory of Judah, and the land of Caleb, and we had just burned Ziklag.”

15 “Will you lead me to this band of raiders?” David asked.

The young man replied, “If you take an oath in God’s name that you will not kill me or give me back to my master, then I will guide you to them.”

16 So he led David to them, and they found the Amalekites spread out across the fields, eating and drinking and dancing with joy because of the vast amount of plunder they had taken from the Philistines and the land of Judah. 17 David and his men rushed in among them and slaughtered them throughout that night and the entire next day until evening. None of the Amalekites escaped except 400 young men who fled on camels. 18 David got back everything the Amalekites had taken, and he rescued his two wives. 19 Nothing was missing: small or great, son or daughter, nor anything else that had been taken. David brought everything back. 20 He also recovered all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock. “This plunder belongs to David!” they said.

21 Then David returned to the brook Besor and met up with the 200 men who had been left behind because they were too exhausted to go with him. Script:
King David and his soldiers were chasing after the Amalekites. The Amalekites raided the land while David and his men were out of the country fighting another battle. The Amalekites enslaved all the women and children; stole all the riches that were in the city.

YOU:
Have you noticed that when you are focused on other things going on in your life, that the enemy enter your life from a different direction and enslave your possessions or love ones.

Script:
King David sought after the Lord for direction, whether to go after the Amalekites or wait? The Lord said, go after it.

YOU: When you loose something, you first plan of action should be seeking direction from GOD, he will tell you if you should go after your stuff right then or wait. It's not always a good idea to chase after stuff, sometimes GOD has to setup the stage for your victory celebration.

Script:
When King David was on his way to retrieve/take back his family and stuff back, he had to leave some soldiers behind because they were tired. So he crossed the brook and ran into a salve that was left behind by the Amalekites. They asked the man who he was and how he got in the position he was in. The man told his story about how he was left behind and how he had not eaten in 3 days. King David asked the man how to find the Amalekites and the slave said yes, only if you would not tell who/how you found them, no give me back to my master and feed me please.
YOU:
When you are on your journey to get back what the devil stole you may run into an expected allies. Someone that the devil may have used directly or indirectly to steal your stuff(joy, family or finances) but GOD turn the tables on that to have them help you recover you stuff.

GOD lead David to a place where he received information on where all the Amalekites were with his family and goods were. The only thing that the informant asked, was that you not tell who told how to find them. Sometimes GOD gives you a word and you need not tell were the info came from.

SCRIPT:
When David and his men over took the Amalekites they recovered everything that was taken from them and more. None of the wives and children were hurt.

YOU:
So when you take back your stuff be prepared to recovered everything in the same if not better conditions before you lost them.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH YOU?

GOD is going to give you all your stuff that you lost back and more. Strained relationships are going to be repaired and the only thing GOD ask of you is to give him PRAISE for the blessings.

Praise the Lord

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I praise Your Holy Name. Thank You Lord, O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You. I will give thanks to Your Name; for You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness according to Isaiah 25:1.

Thank You Lord that our mouths will speak the praise of the Lord, all flesh will bless Your Holy Name forever and ever according to Psalms 145:21. Praise be to Your glorious Name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with Your glory according to Psalms 72:19. The Lord lives; praise be to my Rock; exalted be God my Savior according to Psalms 18:46.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for…………

I love this miracle that GOD showed me. One day I watched a room full of little children ranging from 9 months to 2 years of age. When one baby started crying then the others followed. Not even 10 minutes later, when everyone calmed down; one started singing and laughing, the others did the same. This showed me how the Holy Spirit can enter into a room and spread from one person to another in the matter of seconds.

When you have joy in your heart, don’t hold back from telling GOD thank you. Every time you have a chance, you are to praise GOD for the pain (because joy is coming) and for the joy (because deliverance has come/victory over the enemy has come). How you live your life is a constant boost of the greatness of GOD! Those who are down and out watch you and they are able to see an example of why they are to praise GOD until their deliverance is achieved. Sometimes, you are going to have to the hand of a person/friend/family member and help usher them into praise with you to not only help you through your/their issue, but also walk into your next level of victory in Christ Jesus.

WHAT TIME IS IT?!?

As we enter into the last hours of the year 2008 and enter into 2009, I have a brief message.

The story of the wall of Jericho falling has always been exciting to me. GOD gave Joshua the message that the city is given to you without a fight/war. GOD did all the work for the children of Israel ahead of time. GOD gave Joshua specific instructions on how the deliverance would be given. He said walk around the wall for six days quietly, don’t make any sounds and show no emotions. On the seventh day, GOD told Joshua to tell the people to shout in advance of the victory. The sound of the people’s cries caused the wall to come down and the children of Israel walked in and took the city.

How does this apply to me? GOD has given a few of us information about the up coming the year and or events to be played out soon. Many of us attempted to talk about the information that GOD gave us and he shut of mouths or we found ourselves in environments that we should be shouting and running but GOD glued us to our seats. Why did GOD do this? He says the time to rejoice prior to your breakthrough is not yet here. He wants you to be silent; silence allows you the advantage over the enemy. Silence keeps the enemy guessing what it is that you are up to. When you stop reacting to your environmental changes and start walking totally on faith, the enemy will be too busy trying to figure out and miss the construction of your blessing. When I was in high school, I was always told if a person is too quite then you should be scared of them, because you never know what they are capable of.

Oh, but when the time comes and GOD says make a joyful noise all yea lands, you know that you have been given the victory. The enemy will be in state of shock that all he will be able to do is stand still, see the glory of the Most High GOD and confess that one could have done this but GOD.

Armor of God Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am (we are) thankful for Your mighty armor You have provided for us. I (we) put on us the full armor of God: the Helmet of Salvation; the Breastplate of Righteousness; the Girdle of Truth; Sandals of Peace; the Shield of Faith which protects (guards) us from all fiery darts of the enemy; and I (we) pick up the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God that I (we) choose to use against all the forces of evil in our lives. I (we) place on our feet the Sandals of Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Kingdom of God. I (we) ask You Lord according to John 14:13-14, to be our Guard and a Shield about us. Take us into the cleft of the Rock and underneath Your Mighty Wings according to Psalms 91. Victory In Jesus Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you that we have received from Jesus Christ the victory over all diseases, afflictions, infirmities, hindrances, persecutions, torments and lies that the enemy is trying to send our way now or in the future. I remember the Timex commercial that said,” It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.”

GOD gave the greatest gift of all when Jesus came to save all of humanity. Jesus took a lot for the sake of those who would believe in him and those who wouldn’t. Jesus went to man and many rejected him. Jesus was lied on, beaten, mistreated, used, abused and talked about. After all that he went through; Jesus still went to the cross, hung his head and died. Yet, Jesus rose on the third day to give us an opportunity to join him and his father in heaven to experience total Sabbath. The greatest gift given to the world was Jesus’ life (ministry), death (cancellation of automatic death penalty) and resurrection (keys to enter into heaven). Now that’s a gift that none of us can beat. I won’t mind getting this gift re-gifted time and time again. PRAISE GOD!!!

Being Protected While Traveling

Father, I confess Your Word over my travel plans and know that Your Word does not return to You void, but it accomplishes what You send it to do. I give You thanks for moving quickly to perform Your Word and fulfill its promises.

As I prepare to travel, I rejoice in the promises that Your Word holds for protection and safety of the righteous. Only You, Father, make me live in safety. I trust in You and dwell in Your protection. If I should face any problems or trouble, I will run to You, Lord, my strong tower and shelter in times of need. Believing in Your written Word, I speak peace, safety and success over my travel plans, in Jesus’ name.

Because I am Your child, my path of travel is preserved, and angels keep charge over me and surround my means of transportation. I will proceed with my travel plans without fear of accidents, problems or any type of frustrations. I have Your peace within and will allow fear no place as I travel. You, Lord, deliver me from every type of evil and preserve me for Your Kingdom. I stand confident that my travel plans will not be disrupted or confused.

Thank You, Father, that in every situation I encounter You are there to protect me. No matter by what type of transportation I choose to travel, You have redeemed me and will protect me. The earth and all things on it are under Your command. You are my heavenly Father, and I am Your child. Through my faith in You, I have the power to tread on serpents and have power over all the enemy. No food or drink will harm me while I am away from home. No matter where I may go, I am protected.

Father, I give You the glory in this situation. Thank You that as I keep Your ways before me, I will be secure. Your mercy is upon me, and my travel will be safe. Not a hair on my head will perish.

Thank You, Father, for upholding me with Your right hand of righteousness. You are worthy, my Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.

Laughing is Catching

Laughing is catching. I was watching television with my son’s yesterday and the cartoon was about being judgmental. One dog was talking about another dog having a scratch cone on and how silly the other dog looked. The judgmental dog said, why won’t the other dog just learn how to control himself. Good self-control allows you to stop scratching, so he wouldn’t have to walk around with that large stupid cone around his neck. No more than two days later, the judgmental dog had a cone around her neck. When her friends saw her, they asking why you have that cone on? She said the urge was so overwhelming that she couldn’t help but scratch all the time.

This is how we as children of the Most High look at each other about different issues/problems that we see other brothers/sisters going through in the body Christ. We have a few people say, “Why is she/he always running to the altar or up for special prayer? Why is he/she always crying, running, falling out or just acting like all the time? You never know how soon the devil can get into your life really strong and you will be the subject of the sentence this time around. Don’t judge others abilities to handle issues/ problems like yours; everyone’s tolerance level is different, just like our levels of faith. One person maybe able to handle being lonely unlike another’s or maybe one person’s will power to not gamble may be stronger than another person’s. You never know what your breaking point maybe in life. So mind out what you say about people and how you judge them, the tables can be turned faster than a blink of an eye.

I’m following the Holy Spirit on this. The word has come forth many times in the last few weeks about people (man) needing to repent now for sins of the recent and past. I am seeing in the news how people that did corrupt things a few years ago are now coming to the light. This is not something to affect corporate America, but everyday people also. There are 8 days left in the year, I ask that each reader of this email say the prayer below each day and request for corporate cleansing for the body of Christ. You can not ask God to forgive you, if you won’t forgive others.

Repentance Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your Forgiveness and seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil," (Isaiah 5:20), but that's exactly what we have done. We have lost our Spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values. We confess that; we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism; We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism; We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle; We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery; We have neglected the needy and called it self preservation; We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare; We have killed our unborn and called it choice; We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable; We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem; Some of us have abused power and called it political savvy; We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition; We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression; We have ridiculed the time –honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, O God, and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse us from every sin and set us free according to Your Will.

I have a really good friend that is a minister by the name of Anthony. Anthony never introduces himself to anyone as Reverend or Minister Anthony James. One time at a church event, the guest minister came to him asking for pastor of the church. Tony said I’ll take you to him, the guest said thanks and followed. While walking the began to speak and the guest asked Tony what his name was and he replied,” Anthony James, but everyone calls me Tony.” After the church service was over, the pastor of the church stated, I would like Minister James to come up and close us out in prayer.”; Tony followed the instructions. Right after church was dismissed the guest walked up to Tony and asked why didn’t you tell me that you were a minister? Tony’s reply was,” It’s not the title that makes that man nor does it make people listen to you; it’s your life and how you live it.”

GOD calls you by your name before you have even acknowledge him and then he gives your position/title. Many of us in the body of Christ have become caught up with the titles that are placed before our names. Our title does not make our position in the body of Christ more important than others. Each of us are just as important as the other. Many times we hurt each other and new comers to the body of Christ with our obsessions with positions and titles. Many times if we just be ourselves, others will see why GOD called us to the positions that we are in at that time and season.

Prayer to ask Jesus to clean out churches, restaurants, public buildings, etc.

Father Jesus, I ask You to release Your angels in the presence of this sanctuary, this building, this restaurant, etc., to force out, drive out, clean out all the wicked, demon, lying, perverse, unclean religious spirits or strongmen, out of this building, out of this sanctuary, out of this restaurant, and off this property to force them to go wherever you want to send them Jesus, and I ask You to do this in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, according to John 14:12-14. To God be the Glory!

Heavenly Father, I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over this building, over this sanctuary, over this restaurant, etc., and every threshold entering into this building, restaurant or sanctuary, and it's protection. In October of 2003, my mother was stricken with cancer (she’s in remission now); so I moved back home to be with her. I had to bring all my stuff from a two bed room apartment to a three bedroom house. My mother’s house was fully furnace and my apartment was also; so the problem arrived what would be kept and what had to go. Needless to say, my mom had me put all my things except for the beds in the garage.

GOD tells us that when he sets a path for you he clears out all the major and minor issues/problems. In the process of doing this he positions you to find/locate things that were hidden from others in the dark. Once you have found these objects you have no other choice to announce aloud that only GOD could have made this opportunity possible. There have been multiple times when GOD made openings for you when one else was able to receive favor (jobs, loans, marriages and etc). FAVOR AIN’T FAIR!!!

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

My mother loves to tell the story about me asking,” Mommy why does it rain?” Her response was,” GOD has to wash away all the old stuff to bring in the new.” An April shower brings May flowers.

When the “flood” enters your life, you have to see it for its positive effects. What is it in your life that needs to be removed to allow GOD to manifest his glory fully in your life? Take a good look at your life, why are things being taken away or being pulled out of your grasp. GOD told Noah that he would protect his wife and kids; the same covenant is available to you. While GOD is cleaning you, he will place a hedge of protection around your family/household.

Your new outlook of life should be,
” THE GLASS IS HALF FULL; NEVER HALF EMPTY.”

Overcoming the Day of Trouble

Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus, acknowledging You as my Refuge and High Tower. You are a refuge and a stronghold in these times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation).

In the day of trouble You will hide me in Your shelter; in the secret place of Your tent will You hide me; You will set me high upon a rock. And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me; in Your tent I will offer sacrifices and shouting of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to You, O Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; have mercy and be gracious to me and answer me!

On the authority of Your Word, I declare that I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. When I cry for help, You, Lord, hear me and deliver me out of all my distress and troubles. You are close to me, for I am of a broken heart, and You save such who are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent. Lord, many are the evils that confront me, but You deliver me out of them all.

Thank You for being merciful and gracious to me, O God, for my soul takes refuge and finds shelter and confidence in You; yes, in the shadow of Your wings I take refuge and am confident until calamities and destructive storms are past. You perform on my behalf and reward me. You bring to pass Your purposes for me, and surely You complete them!

Father, You are my Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.

Lord, You have given and bequeathed to me Your peace. By Your grace, I will not let my heart be troubled, neither will I let it be afraid. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will [stop allowing myself to be agitated and disturbed; and I refuse to permit myself to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled].

By faith, I respond to these troubles and calamities: [I am full of joy now!] I exult and triumph in my troubles and rejoice in my sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. 25But ⁽^C⁾when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and ⁽^D⁾took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

Laugh now, but it won’t last that long

How many times have you told relatives and or friends about a dream or goal you wanted to achieve and they laughed at you? The least likely person you thought would have a negative reaction to you was the one closest to you? Or do you find yourself in a position right now where you started out working on your dream and now you seem to be a state of neutral or it may seem you will never get that goal completed in this life time?

In the above scripture Jesus went to heal a child that appeared to have died. They crowd at the officials house began to laugh at Jesus, because he said that the girl was only sleep. Jesus told the crowd to leave ( “move around”) from the room; the only people left was the young girls family and the disciples. Jesus went to the girl, grabbed her by the hand and she got up.

Sometimes in your life you may have to clear out the crowd in your life and only keep those around that have unbreakable faith in your dreams or goals. For others, you may be in a position, like Jesus to help revive someone’s goal or dream that they let go of. Your dreams/goals or not dead they just need a helping hand. Just as Jesus stretched his hand to the girl and she arose, you too must ask GOD for a hand in bring back your dream/goal back to the front in your life.

Remember, with GOD’s help and strength you will be able to live your dreams.

Being Equipped for Success

Father, I thank You that the entrance of Your words gives light. I thank You that Your Word which You speak (and which I speak) is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing and effective].

I thank You, Father, that [You have given me a spirit] of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. I have Your power and ability and sufficiency, for You have qualified me [making me to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as a minister and dispenser of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ].

In the name of Jesus, I walk out of the realm of failure into the arena of success, giving thanks to You, Father, for You have qualified me and made me fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (Your holy people) in the light.

Father, You have delivered and drawn me to Yourself out of the control and the dominion of darkness (failure, doubt and fear) and have transferred me into the Kingdom of the Son of Your love.

I praise God, the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed me with every blessing in heaven, because I belong to Christ. Your divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness through my knowledge of Him Who called me by His own glory and goodness. I rejoice in Jesus Who has come that I might have life and have it more abundantly.

WHAT PART OF, "I'M TIRED", DON"T YOU UNDERSTAND?

I know I have said the above statement in my head a many of days at work and at home. There are times when I find myself frustrated and ready to pull the little hair I have out or when I'm sick I don't want anyone near me.

There will be times when you as a child of GOD you will find yourself in a place where you are tired and you have no one to talk to about the feelings that are running through your mind. When it seems that you can't find a friend to understand your problem or issue, you must run to GOD. The problem that most people have is that they run to their friends or family in times of distress, frustration and depression and not to GOD first. GOD understands all the problems that you would encounter because he saw all of this before your were formed in your mother's womb. We must understand that you must run to your creator to find peace and rest in the mist of the storm at all times.

So the next time you have something to come into your life that causes you to loose rest, look to GOD first and he will provide you a place of peace and tranquility.

Sleep Prayer

Heavenly Father, I (we) come to You now in the Name of my (our) Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I (we) ask You to break and destroy any curses, side effects, effects, influences or stings of any curses that have been placed on me (us), anyone that I (we) have prayed for today, our children, our grandchildren, our marriages, our homes, our cars, our trucks, our offices, our properties, our buildings, our businesses, our ministries, our finances... in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth according to John 14:14.

To Walk in God’s Wisdom and His Perfect Will

Lord and God, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being. You adopted me as Your child through Jesus Christ, in accordance with Your pleasure and will. I pray that I may be active in sharing my faith, so that I will have a full understanding of every good thing I have in Christ.

Father, I ask You to give me a complete understanding of what You want to do in my life, and I ask You to make me wise with spiritual wisdom. Then the way I live will always honor and please You, and I will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, I will learn to know You better and better.

I roll my works upon You, Lord, and You make my thoughts agreeable to Your will, so my plans are established and succeed. You direct my steps and make them sure. I understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is for I am not vague, thoughtless, or foolish. I stand firm and mature in spiritual growth, convinced and fully assured in everything willed by God.

Father, You have destined and appointed me to come progressively to know Your will — that is to perceive, to recognize more strongly and clearly, and to become better and more intimately acquainted with Your will. I thank You, Father, for the Holy Spirit Who abides permanently in me and Who guides me into all the truth — the whole, full truth — and speaks whatever He hears from the Father and announces and declares to me the things that are to come. I have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart.

So, Father, I have entered into that blessed rest by adhering to, trusting in, and relying on You, in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Amen.

The Grass Ain't Greener on the Other Side

Were you one of the millions of little children that asked your parents for a pet (dog, cat or fish)? You wanted a pet because it looked like it was so much fun, fun that never ended! You saw other children having fun with their pets in the neighborhood, on television or visiting other family member's homes. You just had to have a pet or you were going to die…LOL!! It never crossed our minds the extra responsibilities that went along with the pet. Who was going to clean up after your "wonderful" new pet had a accident in the living room floor or the "wonderful" pet ate your new Jordans (for me it was BKs)? Let's not forget you have to give the "wonderful" pet a bath and the need to be walked every day. We didn't see all that "extra stuff' when we first came up with this bright idea of owning a "wonderful" pet. Now you know that grass is not green on the other side.

That's how we (children of GOD) act sometimes when we see how well people are doing that live outside of the will of GOD. We sometimes become envious of evildoers on their success in various areas in life (financial, social status, life-style); so we began to compromise our beliefs to achieve or supersede the evildoers. Just in the last few months GOD has shown us that their side of the fence is not all that great. Many of them have cheated and lied to people in order to create wealth that was not in produced in decency and in divine order. The grass was green for a short time and now the withering has begun; investment brokers and bankers are being charged with multiple crimes. These people use to live the life of the rich and famous and now that will change in a blink of any eye.

As for us, the children of the Most High, we must trust in GOD at all times. If you dive in head first and work diligently for the kingdom GOD will grant you peace and protection in the mist of panic in the land. GOD will award you what you ask for openly before man when you have done good deeds and trusted him with all your heart, mind body and soul. Just like on any job when you meet your preset goals you receive an incentive, your additional incentive on earth is to also receive the secret desires of your heart (things you never said out in the open to anyone).

WHAT TIME IS IT?

”Mommy is it time to go yet?” Mommy are we there yet, how much more time do we have until we get to granny’s house?” Just like children, “we” GOD’s children are always asking about time (when, where and why);as adults we use the term “time management” to justify asking these questions of GOD. We have designed special courses(time management classes) to help justify the time we are delegating to completing or not completing task/goals that we have setup for ourselves and others.

In the above scripture, the writer addresses so many of the issues that I as a parent, a child and a Christian face on a daily basis. Many times I didn’t know when the time has come for me to leave a situation or when the time came for me go back and start a new. I was always mystified how the Bible showed examples of people having to be separated from their comfort zones and brought into foreign surroundings. A good example of this would be Abraham, he had to leave his family, go into unfamiliar territory and this allowed him to receive an indescribable blessing. Yet another example is the newlyweds; they must separate themselves from their families and forsake all other and cling only to each other.

Never be afraid to do what God has told you. If that means leaving the land of familiar to enter into the wilderness, do it with joy. Follow GOD’s instructions and he will reward you greatly for being submissive to his will. There really is a time and a season in everything you do in life.

Prayer for Clarity

Heavenly Father, I (we) ask you to give me (us) and each person I (we) have prayed for today clarity of vision, clarity of sight, clarity of thought, clarity of mind, clarity of knowing, and hearing Your Voice according to John 16:23. Amen!

Let the Good Times Roll

On yesterday was Fat Tuesday; also referred to the “last day” to have funny until Easter Sunday or lent. During Lent, a person should increase the prayer routine, possibly sacrifice something to help them become closer to GOD or break strong holds that may be on there life. Lent normally runs from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday (technically it’s 46 days) this also represents the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness while being tempted by Satan.

When I sat back and think about the concept of my “last time to party before…..” I thought about how many people feel they have to get all the partying or sinning out of there systems before they fully commit themselves to Christ. When I accepted my calling into the ministry I wanted to ensure that I did all my usual/” bad” stuff before I started down this new journey. I receive a larger than life revelation; the longer I take to “get right” the short my time on earth was getting. No man knows the day or the hour when the Lord will come back for his own. No one knows when your own time on earth expires.

It’s time to stop trying to get yourself “right” before you commit to GOD. No one is perfect in the family of Christ. It’s a daily battle to strive for perfection; there was and will only be one perfect being to walk on the earth and that is Christ Jesus. So, come on to the family (church) and we all get “right” together. Cause yo’ girl is fighting that battle every minute of the day.

Inquiring Minds Want To Know

I was always fascinated with the idea of placing a hand written note in a bottle, tossing it into the ocean and how it reaches a person on the other end of the ocean. How does one person have enough faith and wisdom to know that the bottle will make to the other side of the ocean without it breaking or being swallowed by a fish? Yet, we as the children of GOD can ask for multiple request and doubt that he can fulfill the request. If he can ensure the bottle makes it to its destination, why won't he do the same or better for his creations?!? Say," I BELIEVE GOD CAN!"

The wisest man to ever live was King Solomon. God asked him, "What do you want?" Solomon's reply was," I want wisdom." Wisdom opens the door for some much more that a person can posses. Wisdom allows you to know what jobs to apply for, what purchases to make (homes/cars), what relationships to hold or let go (friends, marriages/business partners) or just how to plan your daily activities. Just these examples can show how wisdom can help you avoid unnecessary mistakes, you reputation among others will become great and you can experience wealth (making good decision on investments). GOD is asking you now as you read this message, "What is it that you want?" Say it……..believe it…….receive it…….rejoice & praise GOD for the request being fulfilled.

Christ Jesus, I (we) thank You that my (our) eyes of Your understanding are continually being enlightened; that I (we) may know Your calling, and the riches of Your glory and Your inheritance for Your saints. I (we) thank You for Your exceeding greatness. I (we) believe, trust and rely on You only. I love this miracle that GOD showed me. One day I watched a room full of little children ranging from 9 months to 2 years of age. When one baby started crying then the others followed. Not even 10 minutes later, when everyone calmed down; one started singing and laughing, the others did the same. This showed me how the Holy Spirit can enter into a room and spread from one person to another in the matter of seconds.

When you have joy in your heart, don’t hold back from telling GOD thank you. Every time you have a chance, you are to praise GOD for the pain (because joy is coming) and for the joy (because deliverance has come/victory over the enemy has come). How you live your life is a constant boost of the greatness of GOD! Those who are down and out watch you and they are able to see an example of why they are to praise GOD until their deliverance is achieved. Sometimes, you are going to take the hand of a person/friend/family member and help usher them into praise with you; this is to help you through your/their issue, but this also assist your ability to walk into your next level of victory in Christ Jesus.

Praise the Lord
Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I praise Your Holy Name. Thank You Lord, O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You. I will give thanks to Your Name; for You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness according to Isaiah 25:1.
Thank You Lord that You are my strength and my song and You have become my salvation. You are my God, and I will exalt You according to Exodus 15:2-3.
Thank You Lord that our mouths will speak the praise of the Lord, all flesh will bless Your Holy Name forever and ever according to Psalms 145:21. Praise be to Your glorious Name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with Your glory according to Psalms 72:19. The Lord lives; praise be to my Rock; exalted be God my Savior according to Psalms 18:46.
Thank You Lord that we will praise You from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the Name of the Lord be praised according to Psalms 113:3. In Jesus' Holy Name, I pray. Amen
